Hi, My name is Ashley Kimbrough, owner and therapist at The Mental Bistro, LLC. First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit the website. I understand how hard it can be to take the first step in reaching out for support. It is my goal to make a hard life changing decision easier with lasting results.

I am a lifelong resident of Franklin County, AL and have worked as a substance use and mental health therapist for adolescents and adults in the county for the last 8 years. I have noticed a great need for more mental health services that accept a wider range of insurance providers in our area. I know that I cannot single handedly close those gaps and fill all needs, but it is my sincere hope to offer professional level, confidential, and caring counseling services to as much of our local community that chooses to seek support through my office.

I understand how difficult it can be for anyone to want to begin counseling services. It takes great strength to say, “ I want to address some of these issues.” or “ I am ready to start talking about this.” As I considered what I wanted from the private practice I am offering, I reflected back on some of the hard conversations I have had in my life and what made that easier for me. I thought about how the most comfortable I have ever been in having those hard conversations was sitting across the table from someone I trusted immensely holding a warm cup of coffee in my hand. In that, I decided I wanted to offer that same level of comfort in the struggle for others. Hence, The Mental Bistro. Whether you like hot coffee, hot tea, hot cocoa, a cold glass of water or a Coke or Mt. Dew, it is my hope that you can find comfort sitting at my table or in a comfy chair as I work to build rapport with you and hopefully become someone you trust and feel comfortable working with to heal.
